1. Nature hunt
Pick a selection of things the kids need to spot on your walk from wildlife, flowers and animals.
2. Make a leaf wreath
All you need is a paper plate with the middle cut out and leaves in various colours you’ve collected. Glue to leaves around the edge of the plate
3. Nature Art
Head to your local park and using items around you e.g. sticks, leaves, acorns make your own design.
4. Leaf rubbing
Set up a table with coloured wax crayons and plain paper. Children need to collect leaves that are various sizes and textures. Lay the paper over the leaves and rub using the sides of the crayon to create a skeletal picture of nature.
5. Play at being a weatherman
The Autumn season is guaranteed to bring interesting weather conditions. Encourage kids to learn about the changing seasons by having fun looking at the weather. Make a weather report for the day. 6. Autumn Colours Scavenger Hunt
A fun activity to do whilst out on a family walk or at home. Pick a selection of Autumn colours for example you could use the turning leaves for colour inspiration so red, orange, green, brown and yellow. Get the kids to find an object that matches the same colour.
7. Conker hunt
A traditional childhood activity. Kids will have fun enjoying the fresh air and outdoors finding the shiny, glossy conkers which have fallen to the ground from nearby Horse Chestnut trees. Who can find the most in your family?
