Festive family fun events across South Wales that you don’t have to book tickets to attend.

2020 has been challenging enough for families and who needs the added stress of booking tickets for events. Wales with a Little One has found plenty of Christmas family fun across South Wales and the best bit is no requirement for buying tickets in advance. Just turn up and have fun!

CHRISTMAS TRAIL

FOURTEEN LOCKS CANAL CENTRE NEWPORT

Various dates from Saturday 14th November. No need to book. Kids can enjoy spotting Christmas objects on the trail with a prize every time. Support local crafters at the Christmas shop with decorations, jams and stocking fillers available.

MEET BLIZZARD THE SNOW DRAGON

RED DRAGON CENTRE CARDIFF

Blizzard is a virtual winter dragon ready to enjoy some seasonal fun with families in Cardiff this Christmas. To tempt him out of his cave just scan the QR code and watch for the magic of him appearing on your screen. Make sure to share on social media using #RDCMagicMoments for a chance to win a treat!

The annual Barry Round Table Santa Sleigh event will be going ahead for 2020! Keep a check on the Barry Santa Sleigh Facebook page as dates and routes for the sleigh will be announced shortly. You can plan the best place then to spot the man in red.

SWANSEA ALPINE VILLAGE

Dates throughout November and December. See the twinkling lights and beautifully decorated Christmas trees and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Unique gifts and stocking fillers will be available from the Christmas market including seasonal food and drink. There will also be a selection of fairground rides operating within safe, Covid-19 guidelines.

CHRISTMAS ARTISAN MARKET ABERGAVENNY

Sunday 13th December 10am-4pm. Free admission to an indoor and outdoor Christmas market full of festive refreshments and local crafts and gifts.

CHRISTMAS AT CARDIFF CASTLE AND CHRISTMAS MARKET

Dates throughout November and December. Christmas isn’t cancelled in Cardiff with the annual Christmas lights still brightening the winter sky, the market is going ahead with fairground rides and festive food and drink available at the Christmas at Cardiff Castle event. You only need tickets for the Ice Walk and Victorian Santa Tour. The rest of the attractions are lovely to wander around with family taking in some much needed Christmas cheer.

HAMLEYS TOY STORE CARDIFF

From 5th November - 24th December see dancing and singing elves in store as part of the ‘Have a Hamleys Christmas’ event. The loveable Hamleys elves will be bringing magic and fun all day, everyday . VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS MARKET

LLANYRAFON MANOR CWMBRAN

Saturday 28th -Sunday 29th November 10.30am-3pm. Enjoy Christmas from the past and let the kids experience living history at the much loved Victorian Christmas market which returns for 2 days to Llanyrafon Manor, Cwmbran. Market traders will dress up in Victorian costume and decorate their stalls in festive, period style. The event will be held outdoors following all local Covid-19 guidelines.
